Cheltenham Rotary is this year celebrating 100 years of service, and so we looked back through our history to see what previous events or activities could be re-established and we’ve decided to bring back the Cheltenham Rotary Community Award, last given out more than 30 years ago.
The award will be presented to someone who has improved the town or improved the life of a person or people within the town.
The award will comprise a certificate and award shield and will be presented by the Club President to the selected person at a Cheltenham Rotary Garden Party in July.
We are therefore looking for nominations. Do you know someone who should receive this recognition, someone who has gone that extra mile to make the town cleaner, safer or more attractive, or maybe someone who has supported neighbours though a difficult time, or perhaps you know someone who has volunteered to an organisation for many years.
The only restrictions are;
The nominee must have a connection with Cheltenham, either by current residence, employment or voluntary work.
They must be at least 18 years old.
They must have given their permission to have their details entered into the selection process.
Nominations can be submitted by individuals, organisations or companies, giving details of the nominee and the reasons that this person is deserving of the award. This will become an annual award, as it was in the twentieth century.
